These are only a few of the events occurring in St. Louis, Missouri since August 9, 2014 when an unarmed Michael Brown Jr. was killed by a Ferguson police officer, setting off a nationwide movement to stop illegal police killings.
In time, immigration and other injustices – such as closing the Workhouse (jail) in St. Louis have ensued.

In the interest of transparency, Chuck is a volunteer photographer for ArchCity Defenders, a local non-profit, holistic law firm serving the poor and disadvantaged in St. Louis on civil and criminal matters. He has also served on the board of the Left Bank Books Foundation, which provides books and literacy education to some St. Louis public schools. And, he has tutored with the Bryan Cave Leighton Paisnere law firm reading tutoring program at Sigel School in St. Louis..

They also rededicated themselves to continuing the fight for equality, dignity, and hope.

10th Anniversary Memorial for Michael Brown, Jr., who was murdered on Canfield Drive in Ferguson by a police officer and began the Black Lives Matter movement.

A rally to support Mahmoud Khalil, a student activist in the Columbia University pro-Palestinian campus protests who was taken illegally from his home by ICE on March 8, 2025.
March 18, 2025. Stand Against Hate rally in Affton, MO. After vandals painted Nazi Swasika graffiti on two public school buildings in this suburb of St. Louis, MO activists gathered at a busy intersection to take a stand.
April 5, 2025. St. Louis' first Hands Off action, one of many throughout the U.S. protesting the Trump administration's policies on immigration, tariffs, Musk's dismantling of government agencies that provide critical services, harassment of judges, law firms, the media, universities, and more. It was a cold rainy day and I really didn't expect a large crowd, but people are angry and don't want this kind of change. They took to the streets to be heard. And more will come.

Bring Kilmar Abrego Garcia Home protest and action to increase awareness of the dismissal of Due Process by the United States Justice Department, the FBI, and ICE. Held at Tamm and Oakland Avenues where there is an overpass above well traveled I-64, the demonstrators displayed signs that passing traffic could see as they moved both eastbound and westbound on the interstate.
