A bakery-cafe company with the word “union” in its name refuses to recognize employees when the employees overwhelmingly joined a petition with over 90% approval to form a union local to represent them. Union Loafers, in St. Louis, didn’t live up to its name and on Labor Day, September 7, 2026, employees, labor officials, allies and family all turned out to support their efforts and encourage the company to do the right thing.
